We are from Wisconsin, and we have been snowbirds for the past 7 years. We bring our 5th wheel down the end of December, and head back north about the first of April.
We started out as Snowbirds in January of 2002. We spent 5 months staying in different places from AJ to Bouse to Yuma to Casa Grande to Florence & finally to Queen Valley. We loved the weather and the area. In September of 2002 we started coming to Canyon Vistas. We have been here ever since. We go back to Indiana and Wisconsin during the summer. We sold our house in 2004 and became full-timers. We have a Siamese cat named Fluffy. We have come to think of the Valley of the Sun as home now.
We retired in Aug 03 but due to deaths in the family, we didn't get away for the winter until Dec 05. We came to Canyon Vistas because my mom lived across the street and we returned again this past season (06-07). We plan on returning in Dec 07. Have not tried anyplace else, because we love it at Canyon Vistas! We "summer" at home in Lapeer, Michigan. Where do you summer, Fluffy?
Our home is near Minneapolis. During the summer we park our RV on a lake near the BWCA and commute back and forth about a week at a time.
We left Canyon Vistas the first of April and got to Wisconsin just after Easter to some cool weather and 8 or more inches of snow which quickly melted. A few days of rain now seems to be bringing our 4 1/2 acre lawn to the point of needing to mow.
I'm happy to see others beginning to use the blog.
I finally found my Google info- we arrived home April 13 just before the big snowstorm (upstate New York)and had to get some firewood in, unpack essentials, clean up some trees in the yard. As many of you know my husband hurt his back a week before we left. He drove home and is doing well although he tends to overdo. Jerry is faithful wearing his back brace otherwise he might be in worse shape. We're planning to have a downsizing garage sale in mid-June so we have been digging things out of the attic, garage, barn, shed and house. We've been selling some stuff on eBay. Although we don't plan to sell the house right away, we both agree it's time to start hoeing out. We were also big contributers to our town trash days. The dogs were happy to be home, we have danced some - but we're looking forward to returning to CV in October for our third year.
We (Paul & Debra) came to Canyon Vistas last Fall for the first time, as workampers, assisting Char in the activities department, and quickly decided this was where we wanted to spend our winters. So...we bought a park model and lived in it for two weeks before we had to leave for our spring and summer job as WOODALLS REPS. We are visiting every campground, RV Resort and RV Park, Travel and Tourist Account, RV Dealer or Repair...In Oregon and Nebraska. Currently we are in Medford, and will soon cross the Cascades to the Eastern side of Oregon and start up Hwy 97. We are enjoying the job, but working harder than we have since we quit our real jobs almost three years ago! Can't wait to get back to the lazy, relaxed days at Canyon Vistas! See you in September.

I forgot to say that TEXAS is Home for us...or WAS before we started living in the Wheel Estate two & a half years ago.
